PHDO organised a cross learning in SRI and IFS on 27th July 2018. The cross learning was attended by CWG and RNBA farmers and staffs, totalling to a number of 16 farmers (16 female CWG and 7 male from RNBA). Partners and farmers visited SRI field transplantation, SRI field weeding and IFS at Naodakhong village, Haotak Village and Napaching Village.

RNBA Organises exposure trip to Sikkim
RNBA organised a joint exposure visit under APPI and Bread for the world project to Sikkim which is known as the organic state of India. The visit was carried out on 4th to 10th June, 2018. The visit was organised for 9 Partner NGOs both APPI and Brot partners, comprising of 21 male and 8 females. RNBA team visited Sanganath in South Sikkim, Rabong Sangmoo, and Kitam Manpur in South Sikkim. 48 farmers visit Nongshangkhong village for Cross learning
On 27th September 2017 exposure visit was organised for 48 farmers, 28 female and 20 male. It was organised at demonstration farm on integrated farming system at Nongshangkong village, Ukhrul district. The demonstration farm was designed by best farmer’s state awardees Mr. A. S Somi. The participants were exposed to SRI, horticulture crops such as kiwi, oranges and lemon and integration of livestock’s with vegetables gardening. Organic Inputs Production training held
One day training was organised at Khangshim village with the broad objectives to encourage and inculcate the used of organic pesticides and fertilisers to the community people. It was organised on 27th July 2017 for 17 participants with Madam Toshang Khaling as resource person. The trainees were taught practically on making Bokashi (Japanese fermented fertilisers) IMO (indigenous Micro-Organism) FPJ (fermented plant juice). The trainees were also educated on how the use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides has entered the human food chain which is leading to adverse effect in human health.
Barefoot management training held
In collaboration with ICAR, training on poultry farming was organised on 26th July 2017 at ICAR training hall. One person each from all the targeted villages and field coordinators were trained on poultry farming. Poultry has been practicing in all the villages at a small scale since ancient. However, community have been doubtful about expanding the activity due to absence of veterinary services, village being too scattered, transportation problem etc. Bearing in mind the distress, RRC decided to develop a cadre in each of the targeted villages by training them on livestock management. Seed fair Mela
Seed fair Mela cum local seed exchange program was held on the 17th April 2017 at CWG office. Some villages could not attend due to sudden bandh imposed on the day we organised the program. During the Mela participants got the chance to see different varieties of local seeds/crops and they do have exchanged of seeds. They also realised that some seeds like millet was still preserved by few farmers. Many have appreciated the initiatives for conducting this Seed Mela as it was really motivating to farmers who still practiced self-seed collection. Exposure trip to West Bengal by RNBA & Partners
CWG (Centre for Women and Girls) organized an exposure visit for the Partners. CWG with RNBA and PHDO staffs visited Kajla Jana Kalyan Samity –Pataspur Branch, West Bengal, on 20th -23rd March 2017. The participants were exposed on Biolab, integrated Farming System and organic fertiliser and pesticides.
Integrated Farming system training held
One day training on integrated farming system was organised at RNBA on Oct 02, 2016. During the training Mr.Pranab Ranjan Choudhury, a consultant on NRM and sustainable agro-ecological approaches facilitated the training. The training focus on developing different models of integrated farming with piggery as one main component of the integration. The Participants of the training were community organisers, field coordinator and chief functionaries.

Intensive training on bamboo nursery
