From Regeneration to Recognition: RNBA Honoured at Junoon Awards 2025

Realm of Nature Based Actions (RNBA) is deeply honoured to receive the Junoon Awards 2025 in the category of Circularity. This recognition celebrates our community-led efforts to regenerate degraded landscapes and build sustainable, nature-aligned livelihoods across Northeast India.

At the heart of our work are two core models — SALT (Sloping Agricultural Land Technology) and FORLIS Restoration (Forest Restoration of Locally Important Systems).

The key principle of SALT is to promote permanent farming in one site, reducing the need for shifting cultivation each year. By stabilizing sloping lands through contour farming, soil conservation, and agroforestry practices, SALT strengthens livelihoods while helping preserve forests and surrounding ecosystems.

Through FORLIS Restoration, we work with communities to restore degraded forest landscapes, revive native biodiversity, and protect locally important ecological systems. Together, these models create circular systems where land is regenerated, forests are conserved, and communities become long-term stewards of their natural resources.

This award belongs to every farmer, community member, volunteer, and partner who believes in regenerative change. Inspired by this milestone, RNBA moves forward with renewed commitment restoring landscapes, empowering communities, and building a future rooted in harmony with nature.
